  • A user can utmost book 6 tickets together through one’s ID. Aadhar verification is now mandatory while booking the tickets. Without the Aadhar micro ATM being verified, no sort of booking would be ensured against the individual.
  • The tatkal reservation timings of the trains have likely been changed. For passengers traveling in AC coaches, it is from 10 AM and for sleeper class, it starts at 11.
  • Each user can book up to two tatkal tickets at a time. Online tatkal booking is also available.
  • Tatkal booking does not ensure all the seats that you want. At most, a passenger can get up to 6 berths and not more than that in both AC as well as sleeper classes.
  • When booking tatkal tickets in a day, only one ticket can be booked. No two Tatkal tickets can be booked at the same time. The same is the case for online transactions as well.
  • One cannot use the quick booking window from 8 am in the morning to 12 at noon. It is after this period that users can log in with their own respective ID, followed by the captcha to book respective tickets for the journey.
  • If one is trying to book tickets with the help of the travel agents or other PAN card agent, then it can take place only from 8 am to 11.30 am. After that, no booking is entertained on part of the agents on the IRCTC website. One can then book the tickets all by themselves.
  • The captcha that arrives while booking the train tickets through the IRCTC site is considered to be mandatory and also sensitive. It is to be typed just like the way it is. In case the wrong captcha is typed, you can get a new captcha within 25 seconds. The captcha is more or less an authentication of the identity of the person.
  • For online payment options, make sure you type the OTP correctly.
